Domestic Liturgy

Each of us – whether or not we have started a family – has a home, or at least something like one. And it is precisely there that the great mystery of faith takes place, because Christian life is not confined within the walls of the church.

Each of us – whether or not we have started a family – has a home, or at least something like one. And it is precisely there that the great mystery of faith takes place, because Christian life is not confined within the walls of the church.

Domestic Liturgy – posterThe liturgy pours into us and is meant to help us truly live where we are. How can we keep this divine life in ourselves and in our families? We invite you to Wednesday catecheses for adults on the family ritual.

How should we pray before meals, and how when someone in the household falls ill? How can we learn to pray well despite tiredness and work? What should we do when teenagers lose their faith?

Is there a way to celebrate 1 November? How can we prepare children for their first confession? For Advent, a wreath, candles or a calendar with chocolates? Where can we find a recipe for St. Lucy’s biscuits?

How do you bless a bicycle? Why celebrate the anniversary of baptism? How can we live Holy Week well, and how the Easter season? How can we begin to pray as a married couple, and how when engaged?

We invite all adults: those who have families, those preparing for marriage, and those living alone.

The catecheses take place every Wednesday from 9 November 2016 to 31 May 2017 at 7 p.m. in St. Thomas Hall, Dominican Friary, 12 Stolarska Street.

Each meeting will last about an hour and will be led by Fr. Stanisław Nowak OP. For now, the catecheses will not be made available online (neither as live streams nor as recordings). However, if materials summarizing the catecheses are produced, they will be available on this page later.
